WEB QUEST: Operation: Planet X Invasion Prevention

Reflective Statement:
My final project for TE 881 Distance Education, was to create a Web Quest. I created this Web Quest through the conglomeration of Web pages, images and video. I had never created a Web Quest before but the idea of creating a special scenario from which to base the main learning tasks seemed like such a fun, interesting a powerful way to learn.

Process Statement:
This was my main, final project for this class so I went all out and spent a lot of extra time to make a really extraordinary Web Quest. I made a full website and custom made all of the graphics used. I also created two very elaborate videos that use several special effects and FX sounds for maximum impact. Programs used include: Dreamweaver, Photoshop and Vegas Video.

Assessment Statement:
I was very happy with the end result of this project. Additionally my peers in the class really enjoyed it and one even asked if they could use it to teach their students. Wow, that was a real honor and of course I said, "Yes!" I really enjoyed the Web Quest in that one has to not only think about educating the student but also the process. To create a good Web Quest I had to not only study the content and the way the student would learn but also use lots of creativity to make the whole process exciting, fun and motivational. I think there is great power in the Web Quest concept, not only for K-12 but for higher education as well.
